Syrian Housing Appeal – Homes for Displaced Families

This included sacrificing his pension income to help an elderly woman meet her basic living and healthcare costs.</p><p>He subsequently borrowed money from a lender to continue helping people in need. The high interest charged on the loan caused the outstanding debt to grow, placing him in an increasingly difficult financial position.</p><p>Sansaar Care provided £1,400 to clear the outstanding loan and prevent his circumstances from deteriorating further.<br>Identified Need and Context</p><p>The individual was already experiencing financial hardship but continued placing the needs of vulnerable people ahead of his own welfare.</p><p>His charitable actions included:</p><ul><li>Using his limited income to support people living in poverty </li><li>Giving his pension income to an elderly woman who could not afford basic healthcare and living costs </li><li>Supporting individuals experiencing ill health and hardship </li><li>Borrowing money to provide further assistance to others</li></ul><p>Although motivated by compassion, borrowing money created a serious financial risk. During the event, the devastating scale of the orphan crisis was highlighted, with nearly 55,000 children in Gaza reported to have been orphaned as a consequence of the ongoing genocide.</p><p>In response, Sansaar Care donated £9,600 to sponsor a further 20 orphaned children through Human Appeal’s International Orphan Sponsorship Programme. This builds upon Sansaar Care’s existing sponsorship of 20 children through Human Appeal, bringing the total number sponsored through this delivery partner to 40.</p><p>Across all of Sansaar Care’s delivery partners, the organisation is now approaching 60 sponsored orphans.
