1. Overview of Support Provided

Sansaar Care made a charitable donation of £5,000 to the Deenway Foundation, a UK registered charity, to support the Deenway Montessori School Emergency Roof Work Appeal.

The donation was made on 2 March 2026 and was designated specifically to support urgent structural repairs to the roof of the Deenway Montessori School building in Reading.

The purpose of the donation was to ensure that the school could continue to operate safely and provide educational services to children attending the school.
This contribution forms part of Sansaar Care’s broader commitment to supporting children’s welfare and educational opportunities, particularly where urgent intervention is required to safeguard access to learning.

2. Identified Need and Context

The Deenway Montessori School is a long-established educational institution that has been providing Montessori-based education to children for over 18 years.

The school supports children aged 3 to 16 years, many of whom come from families with limited financial means or challenging educational backgrounds.
The building housing the school is a Grade II listed property, and maintaining the infrastructure has presented ongoing financial challenges for the organisation.

Following prolonged periods of adverse weather, the school roof developed serious leaks which resulted in:

  • water ingress into the building
  • several classrooms and office areas becoming unusable
  • increased risk of structural deterioration if repairs were not undertaken urgently

In response, the Deenway Foundation launched an appeal in November 2025 to raise £42,000 to complete the necessary roof repairs. At the time of Sansaar Care’s contribution, work had begun but a funding shortfall remained to complete the repairs.

3. Beneficiaries and Public Benefit

The primary beneficiaries of this charitable activity are the children and families served by the Deenway Montessori School.
The school provides education to more than 75 children aged between 3 and 16 years, many of whom benefit from a supportive learning environment designed to nurture both academic and personal development.

Public benefit is delivered through:

  • ensuring the continued operation of an educational institution
  • protecting the physical learning environment for children
  • preventing disruption to educational services
  • supporting families who rely on the school for accessible independent education

By helping secure the school building, Sansaar Care’s donation contributed to safeguarding educational opportunities for current and future students.

4. Support Delivered

Sansaar Care provided a £5,000 charitable donation to the Deenway Foundation.

The funds were allocated specifically toward the roof repair project, helping the organisation continue the essential works required to restore the building.
The roof replacement project involved major repair work to address leaks and structural weaknesses that had developed over time. These works were necessary to prevent further damage to the building and ensure that classrooms and other learning spaces remained usable.

5. Outcomes and Impact

Sansaar Care’s contribution helped support the continuation of the roof repair works and contributed to the wider fundraising effort needed to complete the project.

The intended and realised outcomes include:

  • continuation of the roof repair works
  • mitigation of further structural damage caused by water ingress
  • restoration of safe and usable learning spaces within the school
  • improved conditions for students, teachers and staff

The completion of the repairs will ensure that children attending the school can continue their education without disruption and in a safe environment.

6. Risk, Safeguarding and Governance Considerations

The Deenway Foundation is a registered UK charity established in 2009, with governance structures, safeguarding policies and financial oversight in place.
By supporting a regulated charity organisation:

  • safeguarding responsibility for direct educational delivery rests with the Deenway Foundation
  • funds are managed within the recipient charity’s governance and financial control framework
  • Sansaar Care retains documentation relating to the donation and confirmation of receipt

This approach allows Sansaar Care to support beneficial projects while ensuring appropriate governance and safeguarding protections are in place.

7. Learning and Future Application

This case study demonstrates Sansaar Care’s approach to identifying and supporting urgent educational needs affecting children.

Supporting infrastructure improvements within educational settings can have a significant impact by ensuring that children continue to benefit from safe and stable learning environments.

The experience gained through this intervention will inform Sansaar Care’s future work in supporting educational initiatives and responding to urgent needs affecting children’s access to education.
