Our Approach

Sansaar supports children by responding to identified needs in a way that is thoughtful, proportionate, and focused on achieving meaningful outcomes.
We recognise that children’s needs are often complex and interconnected. For this reason, we do not limit our work to narrow definitions of support.

Instead, we consider any form of charitable assistance that can be shown to benefit a child, provided that the support is achievable, represents responsible use of funds, and aligns with our charitable purposes.

Our Approach

Areas of Charitable Support

Educational Support

Education plays a critical role in shaping a child’s future opportunities. Sansaar may provide support that enables children to access, remain engaged in, or succeed in education.

This may include:

  • Funding one-to-one or small-group tutoring where a child is falling behind academically
  • Providing learning materials, books, digital resources, or specialist equipment required for study
  • Supporting access to vocational or skills-based training where this benefits older children or young people

Example: Supporting a child who is struggling academically by funding structured tutoring and essential learning materials, enabling them to remain engaged in education and improve attainment.

Social and Developmental Support

Positive social experiences are essential to a child’s emotional development, confidence, and sense of belonging. We may support activities that help children develop interpersonal skills and resilience.

This may include:

  • Funding participation in organised clubs, sports, or creative activities
  • Supporting programmes that build confidence, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Enabling access to activities that promote inclusion for children at risk of isolation

Example: Covering the cost of regular participation in a supervised activity that helps a socially isolated child build confidence, friendships, and self-esteem.

Financial and Material Assistance

Where financial hardship directly impacts a child’s wellbeing or development, Sansaar may provide practical support to address essential needs.

This may include:

  • Assisting with essential clothing, school uniforms, or equipment
  • Providing support with basic living items where a lack of resources affects a child’s welfare
  • Helping families meet costs that, if unmet, would negatively affect the child

Example: Providing essential items to ensure a child can attend school consistently and with dignity, reducing stress and improving engagement.

Mental and Emotional Wellbeing Support

Emotional wellbeing is fundamental to a child’s ability to learn, form relationships, and develop positively. Sansaar may support interventions that address mental or emotional challenges.

This may include:

  • Contributing to counselling or therapeutic services
  • Supporting wellbeing programmes that help children manage anxiety, trauma, or emotional distress
  • Funding access to structured emotional support where other services are unavailable or insufficient

Example: Supporting access to professional counselling for a child experiencing emotional distress, helping them develop coping strategies and emotional stability.

Physical Wellbeing and Health-Related Support

Some children require additional support to maintain or improve their physical wellbeing. Where appropriate, Sansaar may provide charitable assistance to address these needs.

This may include:

  • Supporting access to equipment that improves mobility or daily functioning
  • Assisting with health-related costs where charitable intervention is appropriate
  • Funding support that enables participation in daily activities despite physical challenges

Example: Contributing towards specialist equipment that allows a child with physical challenges to participate more fully in education or community life.

Spiritual, Moral, and Personal Development

For many children, developing a sense of identity, values, and purpose is an important part of overall wellbeing. Where appropriate and respectful, Sansaar may support initiatives that nurture spiritual, moral, or personal growth.

This may include:

  • Supporting structured programmes that promote positive values and personal responsibility
  • Enabling participation in activities that foster reflection, purpose, and ethical development

Example: Supporting a programme that helps children develop self-worth, moral awareness, and positive decision-making skills.
