Construction of Haitan Bala Primary School

Sansaar Care funded the construction of Haitan Bala Middle School in Pakistan to improve access to education for children living in a rural and underserved community.
Delivery Partner: Education For Sustainable Pakistan (EFSP)
Status of Activity: Completed and fully operational
The project involved the development of a purpose-built school facility designed to provide a safe and structured learning environment for local children who previously had limited access to nearby education infrastructure.
The project was implemented through Education For Sustainable Pakistan (EFSP), which oversaw the planning, construction and delivery of the school building. Upon completion, the facility was made available to serve students within the surrounding community.
The school now provides a dedicated environment where children can attend classes, receive formal education and develop the foundational skills necessary for their futureeducational progression.
2. Identified Need and Context
Many rural communities in Pakistan experience significant barriers to accessing education due to the lack of nearby school facilities and inadequate education infrastructure.
In some areas, children must travel long distances to attend school, which can lead to reduced attendance rates or prevent children from receiving formal education altogether. This challenge particularly affects families with limited financial resources and communities where transportation options are limited.
The absence of local school facilities also contributes to lower literacy rates and reduced educational attainment within rural communities.
The construction of Haitan Bala Middle School was undertaken to address these challenges by providing a safe and accessible educational facility within the community.
3. Beneficiaries and Public Benefit
The primary beneficiaries of this project are children living in the Haitan Bala community and surrounding areas who now have access to a dedicated middle school facility.
The project delivers clear public benefit by improving access to education and providing a safe environment where children can learn and develop.
The school supports:
- access to formal education for children in the community
- development of literacy and numeracy skills
- progression to higher levels of education
- a safe and structured learning environment
By improving access to education, the project contributes to the long-term development of children and supports wider social and economic progress within the community.
4. Support Delivered
The project involved the construction and completion of a school facility designed to serve children in the surrounding community.
The development included:
- construction of a permanent school structure
- creation of classroom learning spaces
- establishment of a safe environment for teaching and learning
- provision of a dedicated facility for middle school education
The project was managed and implemented by Education For Sustainable Pakistan (EFSP), which ensured that the school was constructed and completed in accordance with the project objectives.
Following completion, the school was made available for educational use by children in the local community.
5. Outcomes and Impact
The completion of Haitan Bala Middle School has created a long-term educational resource for the local community.
Children who previously faced barriers to accessing education now have the opportunity to attend school in a nearby facility and benefit from structured classroom learning.
The project contributes to improving educational participation and supporting the development of foundational knowledge and skills among students.
Providing a dedicated school facility also supports teachers in delivering consistent and structured education while creating a stable learning environment for students.
6. Risk, Safeguarding and Governance Considerations
The project was delivered through Education For Sustainable Pakistan (EFSP), an organisation experienced in implementing education development projects.
The delivery partner managed the construction and project implementation process and provided documentation confirming completion of the facility.
Sansaar Care retained project documentation and confirmation that the school building was completed and made available for use as an educational facility.
Working with an experienced partner organisation helped ensure that the project was delivered effectively and that the resulting facility provides long-term benefit to the local community.
7. Learning and Future Application
The Haitan Bala Middle School project highlights the importance of investing in education infrastructure in communities where access to schooling is limited.
Providing safe and accessible school facilities can significantly improve educational participation and support the long-term development of children.
Through this project, Sansaar Care gained additional experience supporting education initiatives delivered through trusted partner organisations with local implementation capacity.
The success of the project reinforces the value of supporting infrastructure projects that improve access to education and create lasting benefits for children and their communities.
